Cookie Notice

Last updated: 16 April 2026 · Governed by the PDPL (2021) and the Cybersecurity Law of Mongolia (2021)

This notice explains what cookies are, why GÜÜR uses them, and how you can manage their use on the Platform.

At a glance

We use four categories of cookies: strictly necessary (cannot be disabled), functionality, analytic & performance, and targeting. The last three require your prior written consent under the PDPL (2021) where Personal Data is processed. You may manage preferences via the Cookie Settings tool or your browser.

Introduction

GÜÜR uses cookies, web beacons, and other similar tracking technologies (collectively, “Cookies”) when you use the GÜÜR Platform — including our website, mobile site, and mobile application. This notice forms part of GÜÜR's obligations as a Data Controller under the Law of Mongolia on Personal Data Protection (PDPL, 2021).

What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files automatically downloaded to your device when you visit an online service. They allow online services to recognise your device over time and are used for navigation, remembering preferences, personalising your experience, and improving service quality.

Where cookies collect information that identifies or could identify you — including IP addresses or device identifiers — that information constitutes Personal Data under Article 4 of the PDPL and will be handled accordingly. GÜÜR will only collect Personal Data through cookies on the basis of your written consent or another lawful ground under the PDPL.

How we use Cookies

Remembering your preferences

Cookies allow GÜÜR to remember choices you have made — such as language settings, login details, and display preferences — so you do not need to re-enter them each time.

Platform functionality

Certain cookies are strictly necessary for the Platform to operate. Without these, core features — booking, account access, and secure payment processing — may not function correctly. These cookies do not collect Personal Data beyond what is strictly required.

Analytics and performance

We use cookies to collect information about how users interact with the Platform — which pages are visited most and whether users encounter errors. Where analytics cookies collect Personal Data, GÜÜR will handle that data in accordance with the PDPL (2021).

Personalisation

We use cookies to enhance and personalise your experience — including tailoring content and recommendations. Where personalisation involves the processing of Personal Data, GÜÜR will obtain your written consent before doing so.

Online advertising

GÜÜR may use cookies to help ensure advertising is more relevant to your interests. Where advertising cookies involve the processing of Personal Data, GÜÜR will obtain your prior written consent before placing such cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time.

GÜÜR's advertising practices

GÜÜR does not permit third-party advertisers to pay to have their products or services promoted to you through the Platform without your knowledge.

How long Cookies stay on your device

Session Cookies

Operate only for the duration of your visit. They expire and are automatically deleted when you close your browser or end your session. Used to support core Platform functionality — maintaining login status and preserving the contents of your booking session.

Persistent Cookies

Remain on your device between browsing sessions. The length of time varies by cookie and purpose. GÜÜR will not retain persistent cookies containing Personal Data for longer than necessary, consistent with data-minimisation and erasure obligations under Articles 15 and 18 of the PDPL. Where you request deletion of your Personal Data under Article 15, GÜÜR will take reasonable steps to remove associated persistent cookies where technically possible.

How to control which Cookies are set

GÜÜR respects your right to control your Personal Data and will honour any lawful preference you express regarding cookie use.

GÜÜR Cookie Settings

You can manage your cookie preferences through GÜÜR's Cookie Settings tool, which allows you to enable or disable non-essential cookie categories at any time. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled through this tool.

Browser settings

Most internet browsers allow you to manage cookie settings directly — block all cookies, block only third-party cookies, or notify you when a cookie is being set. Guidance is available through your browser's help function.

Withdrawing consent

Where GÜÜR relies on your written consent as the lawful basis for placing a cookie that processes Personal Data, you may withdraw that consent at any time by updating your preferences through the Cookie Settings tool or by contacting us at privacy@guur.mn. Withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before withdrawal.

If you block Cookies

If you block or disable certain cookies, some parts of the Platform may become inaccessible or may not function as intended — including features related to bookings, account management, and personalised content.

“Do Not Track” signals

There is currently no uniform, legally recognised standard for how online services should respond to Do Not Track signals, and no such standard has been adopted under Mongolian law. The GÜÜR Platform does not currently alter its behaviour based on a Do Not Track signal. Users who wish to limit tracking are encouraged to manage cookie preferences through the methods described above.
