Standard Cleaning Protocol

Incorporated into the Community Guidelines and the GÜÜR Services Agreement · Governed by Mongolian law

Every Host must meet the minimum cleaning standard below before each Booking. Hosts may go further — and are encouraged to — but they may not do less.

At a glance

Clean floors and common areas, provide hand-hygiene supplies (soap & paper towels or sanitiser ≥ 60% alcohol), disinfect high-touch surfaces between Bookings, and remove all rubbish before Guest access. Cleaning Fees must be honest and reflect actual cost.

Basic cleaning required before every Booking

All Hosts with Listings on GÜÜR must complete the following before each Booking:

  • Clean all floors by sweeping, mopping, and/or vacuuming all areas of the Space accessible to Guests.
  • Provide a functioning hand-hygiene station stocked with either soap, warm water, and paper towels, or hand sanitiser containing a minimum of 60% alcohol, in every accessible area — including bathrooms and kitchens.
  • Clean all common areas accessible to Guests — including bathrooms, kitchens, entranceways, and any shared facilities — ensuring they are hygienic and free of dirt, waste, and residue.
  • Clean all provided Amenities — including dishes, silverware, utensils, and any other Host-supplied items included in the Booking — where applicable.
  • Remove all rubbish from the Space and replace bin liners in all waste receptacles prior to Guest access.

Enhanced health & safety measures

In addition to the basic protocol, Hosts are expected to apply the following enhanced measures, particularly during any period in which public health restrictions are in effect:

  • Manage guest capacity in accordance with any applicable capacity guidelines issued by the Government of Mongolia, the Ministry of Health of Mongolia, or the relevant Ulaanbaatar district authority.
  • Space out Bookings to allow sufficient time for thorough cleaning and disinfection between Events, reducing the risk of cross-contamination between successive Guests.
  • Disinfect all high-touch surfaces and shared Amenities between Bookings — including light switches, door handles, taps, remote controls, coffee machines, and shared equipment — using disinfectant products that meet the standards recommended by the Ministry of Health of Mongolia or equivalent internationally recognised standards.
  • Clean or remove soft and porous materials — such as cushions, rugs, and fabric furnishings — that cannot be effectively disinfected between Bookings, or clearly disclose their presence to Guests in the Listing Description.
  • Engage a licensed professional cleaning service to carry out deep cleaning between Bookings where the nature or scale of an Event warrants it.
  • Provide consumable hygiene supplies for Guest use during the Booking, including disinfecting wipes, disposable gloves, and disposable face masks where appropriate.
  • Reconfigure the Space or add physical markers to facilitate appropriate physical distancing between Attendees where required by applicable public health guidance or requested by Guests.

Protect yourself during a Booking

Stay in the loop. Hosts will be given the ability to outline how they are maintaining the cleanliness of their Space and what cleaning Amenities will be made available to Guests. Look out for cleaning-protocol icons within each Listing — they signal what is being provided.

Cleaning Fees must be honest

Any Cleaning Fee charged to a Guest must be disclosed in the Listing prior to Booking confirmation and must reflect the actual cost of cleaning services, consistent with the GSA. Hosts who fail to comply with these Cleaning Standards may, at GÜÜR's sole discretion, lose certain hosting privileges or have their Account suspended or permanently terminated.
